What kinds of files can I upload?
Tavern Scribe supports both audio and video session uploads for AI processing. If your table already records sessions on a phone, a stream, or a video call, upload the file and the notes are generated from there.
Is the AI notetaker free?
The core Tavern Scribe workspace — campaign management, the live virtual tabletop, maps, tokens, and shared notes — is free. AI session processing uses silver, and your first campaign starts with 100 free silver, no subscription required. After that, you can get silver through monthly subscriptions or one-time silver packs, and players can charge up shared campaign pools to help fund AI processing together.
Does it work for Pathfinder, Daggerheart, and other systems?
Yes. Tavern Scribe works for any tabletop RPG system — D&D, Pathfinder, Daggerheart, Call of Cthulhu, and homebrew campaigns. The notes are generated from what was said at your table, not from a rules database, so the system your table plays does not matter.
Can my whole table see the session notes?
Yes. Session notes and campaign memory are shared across the campaign, so Game Masters and players all work from the same history. Anyone who missed a night can catch up from the notes instead of asking the table to re-tell it.
Does Tavern Scribe train AI on my campaign recordings?
No. Tavern Scribe does not train on your campaign data. Your campaign material stays yours, and core campaign management also works without any AI processing at all.
Do I still have to take notes during the game?
No — that is the point. The AI notetaker builds the record from the recording, so you can stay in the scene. If you do like writing, Tavern Scribe also has collaborative notes the whole party can edit live, and they stay connected to the rest of the campaign instead of living in a separate app.
